Whenever Google discovers some invalid clicks on your website, they could take further enforcement action or your account could be permanently disabled. it is your duty to stay your website in compliance with the AdSense Program Policies.
On 29th of August 2020, Google sent me a mail saying ” The number of ads you can show has been limited. For details, go to the Policy center”.
But what could prompt Google to send this kind of message to publishers? I found a couple of reasons which could have caused the giant Google to warn me and many others by not allowing the ads to be shown on my website for 30 days or thereabout.
Take note, Ad limit message is just a warning and not disabling your account.

1. Limit performance-related websites
If you’re using websites like tools.pingdom / GTmetrix to see what proportion faster your website loads. Checking the website’s speed isn’t wrong but don’t roll in the hay very frequently. Always attempt to use the Google Page speed tool to avoid the issues.
2. Practice Pages on your website
Check whether your website(s) contains any practice pages, for instance, my website is said to programming and automation testing. So, I even have provided some pages where people use automation tools to perform some tasks.
If your websites contain practice pages then confirm Google Analytics and Google Adsense code aren’t placed on those pages.
3. Cloudflare Settings
I don’t use the Cloudflare to store my website on CDN, if you’re using Cloudflare or any CDN then check at what frequency the Cloudflare is fetching your website.
Cloudflare looks for the changes within the website and also for any threats so adjust the frequency of Cloudflare.
4. Invalid Traffic (check analytics):
Check your Google analytics to ascertain if you’re receiving any users/bots are coming to your website. Sometimes spammers might ruin your websites by using bots.
5. When You Buy Traffic:
There is also another quite spam like “website owners buying the traffic”. If you’ve got bought the traffic from spam websites then you would possibly find yourself receiving the Warning.
You might have thought to enhance your website ranking while buying the traffic but most of the time it doesn’t help to enhance the ranking.
Don’t buy traffic from the Fiverr or Upwork.
6. When You Self click
I hope you’re not clicking on the ads on your website if you’re doing to then stop doing it.
7. When You Use Tools
The 7th cause of number of ads you can show has been limited is when performance tools are used to make virtual users which can also cause this type of issue because Google will see these tools as bots.
